While we are proud to be Acacia every day of the year, we are especially excited to announce the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) is recognizing it too.
Acacia Health Center was recently awarded not one, but two major achievements based on stellar healthcare services and highly rated surveys.
Acacia Ranks #1 in Arizona
For the first time ever, Acacia Health Center has been ranked #1 out of 141 long-term care communities in the state of Arizona. This honor is based on the Arizona Department of Health’s annual survey and the Long-Term Care Trend Tracker through AHCA and NCAL. Only one community in Arizona can hold this title at a time.
“Being acknowledged as number 1 in Arizona for survey outcomes instills a sense of pride amongst our residents and staff,” said Misti Valentino, administrator of Acacia Health Center. “It motivates us to maintain and improve our quality standards.”
Acacia Earns the Bronze Award for Commitment to Quality
As if being the #1 long-term care community in Arizona wasn’t enough, Acacia also earned the AHCA and NCAL Bronze Commitment to Quality Award as well.
This national award recognizes providers who go above and beyond to improve the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities. As another testament to Acacia’s exceptional services, they are only one of three communities in all of Arizona that met the high standards needed to receive it this year.

Acacia offers short-term rehab, long-term care and comprehensive rehabilitation services. It’s part of Sagewood’s broader continuum of care, which also includes independent living, assisted living, and memory support. But Acacia Health Center is more than just a care facility, it’s a vibrant part of the Sagewood community, dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of residents and their families.
Acacia staff members celebrated locally with a food truck party and lots of congratulations going around within the community. The team will head to Las Vegas in October to get their plaque, earn their recognition and celebrate during the Annual American Health Care Association conference.
