Meet Gina Razdan: Sagewood’s Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care

Gina Razdan, Sagewood’s Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care, has an unmatched skillset and passion for senior living. In her 30 years of healthcare experience, Gina has been a nurse on hospital surgical floors, has cared for those in skilled nursing, managed independent living, supported memory care residents and has led assisted living.

Gina has had a hand in all aspects of senior living and seen each part of the continuum of care. This gives her unique insight and ability to identify the needs of residents regardless of their levels of care. However, she did not become a senior living pro overnight.

Gina graduated with her Bachelor of Nursing from Arizona State University and promptly started her career in a hospital setting. However, she took a break from her career to build a home and raise her four children.

Once her kids were out of the house, Gina felt it was the right time to go back to work, but she needed a change. This is when she found her first role in senior living and never looked back. After nine years of working at a local retirement community, Gina joined the Sagewood team.

Since 2019, Gina has been the Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care. Although, no two days look the same, Gina spends her time managing a team of 40 people, meeting with the interdisciplinary team, completing rounds in the community, and building strong partnerships.

Gina believes building strong bonds and partnerships between the residents, the staff and their families creates the best results for residents. By cultivating these relationships, Gina and her team are more capable of filling in the gaps of care that residents need.

The team supports residents by helping them shower, administering their medications, setting appointments, providing oversight in their daily lives, and more. The overall goal is to help residents stay independent for as long as possible and assist them in the tasks they can no longer do for themselves.

“Everyone at Sagewood becomes a team to support the residents,” said Gina. “Not only are we working to care for the Sagewood residents, but they also take a deep interest in our lives.”

Gina and her children made such an impact on the Sagewood community, the resident scholarship group donated funds to help Gina’s kids attend college. She now has three kids who graduated and her youngest is almost finished with his engineering degree. She feels so grateful for the support of the community and takes pride in Sagewood’s passion for continuing education.

When Gina is not working, she spends time with her four kids. She also loves to travel and go on cruises. Gina is a curious soul and is always looking to learn something new or go exploring.

As anyone at Sagewood knows, Gina is truly a one-of-a-kind person and a wonderful advocate for the entire Sagewood community!
